Real Estate Photography & Videography FAQs

First of all, all of our staff are fully vaccinated and we ensure the six CovidSafe workplace principles are always adhered to.

We maintain a flexible shooting schedule so that should anyone exhibit cold/flu symptoms and need to postpone their shoot, we can happily reschedule them.

This is of the utmost importance to us to ensure the safety and wellbeing of both our staff and clients at all times.

To book, use this contact form. You can ask us any questions you might have using the same form.

If you prefer to do things the old-fashioned way, you can also call, text or email us – you can find our details here.

The more notice we have, the better!

We would love 2-3 days notice, if possible. This way we can usually reserve your preferred date and time. On rare occasions, we can accommodate last minute requests if a cancellation comes up. This doesn’t happen often though, so it’s not something to count on!

If you can let us know what you need early on, we will do our very best to schedule the most convenient appointment timing for you and your sellers.

It depends on the size of the home and the services you have booked.

For photographs and a floor plan, we generally plan for a session to take an hour. If your appointment includes video and aerial photographs, our session will be longer.

Some sessions take as little as 30 minutes, if your booking is for photographs only. nLarger shots may take up to 3-4 hours, depending on the complexity of the property and techniques needed.

We pride ourselves on our results.

We focus on quality over speed, so we avoid using quick run-and-gun techniques that often produce cheap-looking results.

To take the high-quality images that we’re known for, we carefully place a series of flashes around each room to ensure the room comes up beautifully in our images. Getting this technique right can be challenging in some homes, depending on the home layout, and sometimes can take a little longer than expected. We guarantee the time we spend will be worth it – we’re dedicated to getting the perfect photographs for our clients.

We’ve created a resource to help you prepare the home for our photography session. Take a look at our Preparing for Real Estate Photography page – it has all the information you’ll need.

We want to make the most out of our appointment for you, so please ensure all staging and cleaning is complete prior to our arrival.

We combine our years of photography experience with a wide mix of high-end gear.

Our equipment is some of the best you can find: Canon, Nikon, and Blackmagic camera gear. We add in all the extras too: Godox strobe lighting setups, flash stands, tripods and umbrellas. We also use specialist multi-rotor drones for stunning aerial shots.

Our gear allows us to ensure that the straight lines are perfectly straight, the images are capture in eye-catching high-resolution, and your rooms are lit to perfection. Everything we use is designed to create the best images possible for you.

Our real estate photography sessions include a 24-hour turnaround, so expect to see your photos within 24 hours of your appointment.

Video content may take an extra day or so to ensure final edits meet our high standards.

We’ll send you a link via email, where you’ll receive two sets of photos.

One set will come in a large size, ideal for printing and boards if needed. The second set will be sized and optimised specifically to look great across websites and social media

To cancel or reschedule please contact us.

If you can organise to leave a key for us or use a key-box with a code, we are happy to attend scheduled appointments without anyone else needing to be there.

Otherwise, you or the homeowner/tenant/agent will need to be on site to let us in at the time of the appointment.

Absolutely! They are most welcome.

There is one thing to keep in mind, though: we will only have limited time at the property, we want to make the most of your appointment for you, and we produce our best work when distractions are limited.

It depends!

We offer everything from simple photography packages at $100 all the way up to all-inclusive $1,000 packages combining photography, video, floor plans, aerial photography, and everything in between.

We pride ourselves on offering flexible and affordable services to suit our clients, and we are happy to tailor them to what you need. If you get in touch and tell us what you are looking for, we can customise a package to suit you.

Yes, we can photograph empty homes! But there are a few things you might like to consider.

Photographs of furnished or staged homes stand out in the market, and are much more likely to attract the buyer attention you’re seeking. This might sound like a lot of hassle to organise, but it’s worth it in the long run.

If your house is vacant and staging every room in your house seems too much, we encourage you to consider hiring a professional to stage the most essential rooms: the master bedroom (and bathroom), living room and kitchen. For our staging service recommendations, get in touch.

For a stress-free alternative, we offer a virtual staging service to turn your empty rooms into gorgeous digital images of a tastefully styled and furnished home.

Abode Productions will own the copyright to all still and video media we produce on your behalf. If you’re our client, you’re free to use the photographs and other materials we make for you for any personal marketing purposes.

You do need to keep in mind, however, that the photographs or other marketing materials we create for you may not be used by any other party without our written consent.

So if a builder, stager, contractor, handyman, or anyone else asks you for a copy of our images, please refer them to us. We are very accommodating and usually happy to share the content without any additional costs.
